1. I have lived here for 10 years, why haven't I heard about this before?
For obvious reasons, the electricity companies have chosen not to inform
people.
2. I bought the house knowing the electricity lines were there, why do I have
a claim?
Under present legislation, it does not matter when the property
was bought. If you meet the three criteria listed in the "Can
I get compensation?" section, you are eligible for a claim regardless of when you bought the property..
3. What is the level of compensation?
Anything up to 25% of the value of your property. In extreme cases this can be more.
4. Will it cost me anything to employ PCC to investigate any potential claim
that I might have?
No, PCC will assess your eligibility for free.
5. How long will the claim take?
There is no defined timescale. It is a lengthy process and could take as little as 6 months or more than 12 months.
6. What do I have to pay if I am successful in my claim?
PCC's fee is charged at 20% of the settlement it achieves for you.
VAT is also payable on our fee. You are not liable to PCC's fees
until you have physically received the compensation payment from
the electricity company. |
